I suspected that turning on passwd turned off telnet, but wasn't sure.
Thank you for the response. Like you, this is a part time project that I am fascinated by.
So, my only outstanding item is the ssh restricted shell. I'll try to execute some of the failing commands and post the errors. Maybe that will clarify the issue.
