"www offload" seems to be broken in 1.0. Possible work-around found

I recently dug my PirateBox out of storage after the previous drop site had to be abandoned some time ago. Decided to go ahead and update from 0.6 to 1.0. That went all fine and dandy. Now, I want to be able to customize some elements of the PirateBox and possibly add new ones, being a web dev myself. Unfortunately, I hit the exact same snag that I found after much searching outlined here:

Has this been patched, or a workaround been found yet?
