Before you start scroll down and refer to NOTE ONE!
1. Extrack install_piratebox.zip file and drag the install folder over to your USB flash drive
2. Now remove USB stick from your computer and plug it into your TP-Link router
3. Set the toggle switch on your ROUTER to WISP mode
4. Connect ROUTER via ethernet cable to you computer and power on ROUTER
Once ROUTER is running OPEN a web browser to [192.168.0.1] and login using default admin/admin
5. Navigate to SYSTEM TOOLS/FIRMWARE UPGRADE and select your OPEMWRT image
6. After UPGRADE is complete the ROUTER will restart (WAIT at least 15min)
For step 6 I turned my cell phones WiFi on and went to the list of available networks
during the upgrade you will see the Piratebox Share Freely SSID appear Twice! When it
Appears the second time wait 10 minutes and if it stays you know the upgrade is DONE!
BEFORE YOU CONTINUE SCROLL DOWN AND READ NOTE TWO!
7. Once installation is complete OPEN putty and telnet to 192.168.1.1
8. Use the passwd command to set a new password (This will enable SSH!)
You're now ready to activate the Kareha Image and Discussion Board and the UPnP server!
1. OPEN putty and ssh to 192.168.1.1 (Use the password you set in step 8)
2. Activate the Kareha Image and Discussion Board
vi /opt/piratebox/www/board/config.pl (And change USERNAME & PASSWORD Don't forget to remove the leading # in the both lines!)
SAVE and exit!
3. Activate the “timesave functionality” once!
/etc/init.d/piratebox timesave

Step 4 did not work for me because I was wired. Do this step anyway. Then just do step 8 over WiFi and it
should initialize.
5. Activate the UPnP Media Server by copying over the config file
cp /opt/piratebox/src/openwrt.example.minidlna /mnt/ext/etc/config/minidlna
6. Finally, start the UPnP Media Server with
/etc/init.d/minidlna enable
7. Now power down your Piratebox and unplug the network cable from it. Then power it back up (WAIT TILL ALL LIGHTS ARE ON!)

--->NOTE ONE<---: Make sure your computer is set to a static IP of 192.168.0.2 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
(NO NEED TO ENTER DNS ADDRESS OR GATEWAY!)
Address= 192.168.0.2 (This will be the PC's IP)
Netmask= 255.255.255.0
--->NOTE TWO<---: After the update process the new IP address of the Piratebox will be 192.168.1.1
Change your computer settings so you have an IP address of 192.168.1.2 subnet 255.255.255.0. (NO NEED TO ENTER DNS ADDRESSES OR GATEWAY!)
Once you make the IP change to 191.168.1.2 unplug the network wire from your PC and reinsert it. This will allow your TP-Link to grab the new IP settings.
Now you can continue the configuration.
