Router just seems to be rebooting constantly without finishing

Hi all,

I spent some time on the IRC with <MaStr--> who very kindly guided me through reflashing the router. But the box just seems to be constantly rebooting without end. The installation process never seems to finish. It's been over an hour.

When I try to open telnet - it just crashes with messages like: Network error: connection refused.

Actually I thought I was getting somewhere. I just took the UBS out of the router and the WLAN light started coming on the router. So then I did steps 1 and 2 - changed my password. Then put in time and date - it said ok.

Then at stage four I closed down the telnet window - and tried to reopen with ssh root@192.168.1.1. And it doesn't work!
