I bought it brand new, the package was sealed. The sticker under the battery says v2.3 on it as the firmware version. I didn't check the packaging but I will when I get to my home. I downloaded the .bin from this link: [stable.openwrt.piratebox.de]
As I stated before, I ensured that I used the file for v2 and not v1. I even redownloaded it to be sure it wasn't an incorrect file size. I purchased another one and that worked fine the first attempt so I'm not sure why the first router is being difficult.
