Turns out that uboot on the nexx is an altered uboot, closed source / violating the GPL.
So until there is someone who knows how to break free from this the NEXX is not secure.
What i understood on the open wrt forum is that it is not possible to change the uboot from within openwrt because for security reasons they blocked openwrt from writing in uboot. Assuming that there would not be a 'broken' uboot in place.
As i said, i'm all new to this, and i have the feeling that i need a lot of time to learn everything. :) But that's why i'm here
So now i'm going to search for a ar71xx based alternative in the $15 pricerange. Just to be on the safeside in case of a brick.
BTW what is the difference between ar71xx and the mediatek devices that stands in the way of running piratebox on it?
