MR3020 - Works on mobile devices but not on desktops... HUH???

So, I had a very old install of piratebox on an MR3020... I had basically given up on it as junk...

It would run for a while and then just drop... but then I saw that 1.0 had been released!

So, I wiped the flash drive (oops) which made it a little difficult but I finally got back in from a Linux Machine and managed to reflash OpenWRT with the newest squashfs-factory.bin firmware...

I was patient... let it reboot a few times... Then I put the install directory onto the flash drive... put it back into the PirateBox.... rebooted and let it do it's thing for at least 20-30 minutes... basically, I didn't telnet in until all the lights had gone solid and it seemed ok...

Then I ran through the rest of the instructions to initialize and setup the various aspects of the PirateBox...

I rebooted... and I've tried 3g mode and wisp mode and AP mode....
but the piratebox loads FINE on both an Android and iOS phone...

but the moment I try to load it from a desktop it's just like I'm not even connected... (windows machines anyway)
Linux box connects OK.

Firewall issue?

What gives?
