Piratebox on a MR-3420 router ?

Hello,
This is my first post and I hope I can get help. Firstly, I apologize if my case is not very clear, I’m from France and my case is a bit complicated. I work in a french library and we wish to open a librarybox service. We ordered MR-3020 routers from TP-Link but our hardware provider couldn’t find it : apparently this model is no longer available in France. As a consequence, they (our provider) suggested us to send MR-3420 routers from the same manufacturer, which we accepted. This router is compatible with the OpenWRT project as indicated on their wiki : OpenWRT
We originally based our procedure on the French librarybox installation tutorial here Bibliobox
Of course, it didn’t work as expected since the files are meant to be installed on a MR-3020. However, the 3420 uses the same chipset.
Then I found another install file which is supposed to be compatible with the MR-3420 here : 3420
And… nothing ! Doesn’t work despite several attempts, the router remains silent. I finally had to reinstall original firmware via telnet. Maybe the European version of MR-3420 is not the same as refereed on the forum ?
I guess the only way to make the install work is to hack the source code but I’m not competent enough for that. Can you help me ?
