A easier solution is maybe to split the network on your MR3040 into two parts.
Currently, the ethernet port and the wifi port is bridged together. It is possible to divide it into LAN and WIFI.
The result would be, that you can't access to your LAN connected to wifi.

Everything else should be possible with hotplug, somehow ...
