If you have just bough it recently, and you would have no use for it, you should look into returning it. Most shops have to accept returns within a specified time (I think 7 days in the EU) without any questions asked.

I have an MR3020 model ver 1.6 and it works.
In the Piratebox Camp over the weekend we have installed a few MR3020 ver. 1.8's with PirateBox and they worked as well. I think this is the latest model.
