Sorry that I wasn't clear - there were so many details. When I used PuTTY to SSH in to the MR3020 , the 3020 was connected to the router with an ethernet cable. My netwbook was connected to the router via wireless. This worked fine up until the stage in the process where it disconnected itself. (software did the disconnect)
