So to clarify:
You want the PB to be plugged in to your home router via ethernet and allow internet access to it, but the clients shouldn't be able to reach the internet. Is that it?
If so, why should the PB connected to the internet (this is not what it was really made for)?

Generally to allow internet access to the PB you need:
I think in the latter case you won't be redirected to piratebox.lan by default.
You can either access the internet via the piratebox, and hence you don't have a PB any more, but a WIFI router or you can have the PB running and clients redirected to piratebox.lan.

Generally to allow internet access to the PB you need:
- [*] Correct IP settings in /etc/config/network
[*] Stop handling of DNS by the PB with
/etc/init.d/piratebox nodns
