I have the number in a txt file thanks to the mod:
/opt/piratebox/bin/install_piratebox.sh /opt/piratebox/conf/piratebox.conf station_cnt

just need to bring that into home page somehow - gotta be pretty simple. My coding skills are somewhat flat!
