Not a problem. It seems when I direct connect the system and SCP files over either to /opt/piratebox/www/Shared or to /mnt/usb/Piratebox/Shared at some point the drive files "flips" to a 'Read Only'...

I think more of a problem with filesystem cache not being written as fast as you are uploading your files. Try to limit the speed of transmission with scp using the option -l and the brandwith in kb/s
