I'm curious that you have this error

It seems there is a problem with you python installation on the piratebox. That is very uncommon and may result of a filesystem failure.

Try the following to reinstall it

opkg -d ext install--force-reinstall   /mnt/usb/install/cache/python*

If that doesn't work, try to reinstall the Box using the upgrade tutorial you find under HowTo-OpenWrt
