Regarding Shoutbox
After reinstalling the python files as advised shoutbox started functioning properly.
Regarding Droopy
however the small upload window still shows an error. The full error from the window is below:
When I connect to the interface that I know droopy should respond on (192.168.1.1:8080) I was able to upload a file as expected. However when connecting to piratebox.lan:8080 it displays the same error

Server not found Firefox can't find the server at piratebox.lan. Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
