The TP is based on Atheros, but this NEXX is based on the MediaTek SoC. Well i have openwrt running on it thus so far so good, I'm all new to this so I prefer to ask around before I turn my $15 box into a brick.
The the stock uboot that NEXX configured seems to have a security flaw so i wouldn't reccomend it for anything non-educational.
But since pirtate boxes can live their lives offline this should be less of an issue. (and the NEXX is about 50% less 'expensive' then the TP. And with a few of these in the wild with the security flaw, that might invite a few clever monkees to have some fun with it. Thus raising more awareness onn the subject? Or is my philosophy a bit backwards when I say this?
