The mediatek devices run a different (CPU) Architecture then the PirateBox-custom images are built of.
The PirateBox images contain an automatic installer which makes it as easy as possible to install a piratebox. Technically, that is possible on other plattforms (non ar71xx), without any further discussion.
But in the real world, we only created scripts for creating the image based upon the ar71xx architecture. Those scripts needed to be adapted and changed in a way, that they are multiplatform-able.
As we are lacking of support (from people willing to help), a bunch of work is undone and can't be done within the next months.
