Oh, another update for you:
This evening, I have disabled wireless in /etc/config/wireless to:
# REMOVE THIS LINE TO ENABLE WIFI:
option disabled 1
I have just changed it back to 0
and restarted network /etc/init.d/network restart
Here is the output:
root@OpenWrt:~# /etc/init.d/network restart
Configuration file: /var/run/hostapd-phy0.conf
Using interface wlan0 with hwaddr f8:1a:67:52:f2:d5 and ssid 'OpenWrt'
root@OpenWrt:~# ping www.google.com
ping: bad address 'www.google.com'
TLDR; Switching the wireless ON also did not help.
