Still having some problems. Is it because of my brand of usb drive that it is not showing up as /dev/sda1, but /dev/sda? I tried mounting the drive. I killed the two processes called box_installer, and then I ran bin/box_installer.sh. Seemed to do something. I get to the part where is says "configuring piratebox", but it seems to hang there.
