Strange.
Ok, sometimes USB drives can be used without a partition directly formatted. Make sure it has a proper partition using fdisk, and the partition is formatted with FAT32.
It seems, that some vendors are not creating a partition and only send out a formated usb stick.
Normally, if you first tried with an USB 3.0, moving the files over to the USB2.0 stick should do the trick. If you have problems with the auto installation, sometimes (from a previous try) the install-flag file called "auto_package" is already renamed to "auto_package_done". Renaming it back to "auto_package" makes the box to retry the installation during the next boot.
Killing the box_installer.sh is one option, a better would have been to checkout /var/log/messages, because the output of the bootup started one is put there.
